The My Service Benefits (MSB) program, which includes the MyArmyBenefits (MAB) and MyAirForceBenefits (MyAFB) websites, is pleased to announce the launch of new online calculators that assist Soldiers, Airmen, Guardians, and their families in planning for their future. The previous MAB and MyAFB calculators provided estimates of retirement pay for the Blended Retirement System (BRS), Redux, High-3, and Final Pay retirement systems, as well as Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) Premiums, Survivor Benefits, and pay changes surrounding Deployment. The new calculators offer these same capabilities plus an improved user experience, especially on a mobile phone. Additional calculators for Medical Retirement, RMC (Regular Military Compensation), and SCAADL (Special Compensation for Assistance with Activities of Daily Living) have been added to the MSB suite of calculators.
With the new calculators, Soldiers, Airmen, and Guardians, can use their Common Access Card (CAC) and/or DS Logon to access them on the MAB and MyAFB websites. Requiring a log-in allows IPPS-A (Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army) and MilPDS (Military Personnel Data System, Air Force Personnel Center) to pull a military member’s data and prepopulate some calculator fields for personalized benefit estimates and information. The Deployment, RMC and SCAADL calculators do not require logon access and are accessible to everyone, including military spouses. The new and improved versions of the calculators will provide the same great access to a personalized report that Soldiers, Airmen, and Guardians were accustomed to receiving in the past but with added capabilities and additional calculators that help serve a larger population of service members. New capabilities include bar charts in both todays’ dollars and future dollars, the optional inclusion of Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) information for High-3, Final Pay and REDUX Retirement systems, which facilitate career and financial planning.
With the calculators back online, My Service Benefits will continue to work on fixes for some known issues, specifically with the Reserve Component calculators. We ask for patience and understanding during this time as we work to provide the best possible planning tools for service members.
