The “Increase Your Credit Score” workshop will be a live event with credit experts whose aim is to help you bolster your credit score and financial stability.

Workshop segments for the event will include expert insights, key factors that influence your credit score, understanding and mastering your credit report, and action plans for improving your credit habits. During this virtual workshop, you will receive strategies and tips that will help you protect your identity and correct misinformation.

According to the program, by implementing these measures, attendees will be able to achieve a noticeable credit score improvement within just 90 days.

Your credit score is a measurement of your overall creditworthiness and financial health. It’s also an important piece of your financial identity. Whether you want a loan to buy a home or an automobile, or you’re applying for a credit card, a lender uses your credit score to determine your interest rate and whether you qualify for an extension of credit. That’s why building and maintaining good credit is important.

Veteran Saves—a program of the nonprofit Consumer Federation of America—is hosting this event to help Veterans increase their financial stability and economic resilience. Those who use the resources at Veteran Saves can also learn how to start an emergency fund, get out of debt and save for retirement.

Veteran Saves is a pillar of VA’s Veterans Benefits Banking Program (VBBP). VA created VBBP with the Association of Military Banks of America (AMBA) to help VA benefit recipients get banked. The program has helped more than 340,000 Veterans and their beneficiaries transition from check to direct deposit. VBBP started with only four participating financial institutions, but now has more than 100.

VBBP also provides Veterans a free session with an Accredited Financial Counselor® through the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education® (AFCPE®) or a credit counselor through the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). Veterans can even explore personal financial management topics through VetCents, a self-paced financial education tool available through VBBP, designed specifically for Veterans and their families.
