U.S. Army Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS)

Active duty Soldiers are eligible for the PaYS program if they joined the program upon enlistment.
If a Soldier chooses the PaYS program option during the enlistment process, the guidance counselor or Army recruiter uses the PaYS database to identify two partner companies or agencies with job needs that match the job skills associated with the military occupational specialty (MOS) selected. The Soldier signs a Statement of Understanding (SOU) with the selected PaYS partners containing the details of the PaYS option. As part of the program the PaYS partners agrees to interview the Soldier for a selected position providing that the Soldier receives an honorable discharge after one enlistment, is otherwise qualified and a job vacancy exists. Six months prior to separation, the Soldier coordinates transition to civilian life, through the Soldier For Life-Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP), notifying the PaYS partner selected upon enlistment.
There are 798 private companies, corporate and public sector agency partners participating in PaYS (as of 2020) with thousands of jobs in the PaYS database. Companies that participate in the program include global companies such as Coca-Cola Refreshments Inc, Amazon, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Sears Holdings Corporation, Cintas, and HCA. They also include local organizations across the country such as the Los Angeles Police Department, New York State Police, Boston Fire Department, San Diego Police Department, and the Baltimore County Police Department.
