Partnership for Your Success (PaYS)
Benefit Fact Sheet
The U.S. Army Partnership for Your Success (PaYS) Program guarantees Soldiers a job interview and possible employment after leaving the Army. The Army partners with America's business community and public sector employers as an incentive to attract quality men and women to serve in all-volunteer Army, positively impact local perceptions, build an environment more favorable to the Army's Brand and to reconnect America with its Army. PaYS partners benefit through access to potential employees who bring the skills, professional work habits, and pride and personal integrity that an Army background provides.
As of April 2023, Army PaYS is now available to all Soldiers. Every recruit is automatically assigned a PaYS code upon enlistment and are encouraged to register prior to their ship date.
This process will also be retroactive so that all Soldiers currently serving are eligible for PaYS, regardless of whether they received PaYS when they initially joined.
Army Reserve Soldiers on active duty are eligible for the PaYS program..
During the enlistment process, Soldiers sign a Statement of Understanding (SOU) and register for PaYS prior to training ship date. Soldiers will select PaYS partners upon their decision to transition out of the Army. PaYS partners agree to interview the Soldier for a selected position provided the Soldier receives an honorable discharge, is otherwise qualified and a job vacancy exists. The Soldier coordinates transition to civilian life through the Army Transition Assistance Program (TAP), where they can also seek assistance in selecting PaYS partners for the guaranteed interview.
There are over 1,000 private companies, corporate and public sector agency partners participating in PaYS (as of 2022) with over two million jobs in the PaYS database. Companies that participate in the program include global companies such as The Boeing Company, Amazon, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Mercedes Benz U.S. International, Southwest Airlines and Wells Fargo. They also include local organizations across the country such as the Los Angeles Police Department, New York State Police, Boston Fire Department, San Diego Police Department and the Baltimore County Police Department.
