Military OneSource, both a call center and a website, provides comprehensive information, referral and assistance on every aspect of military life 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to all component members of the Armed Forces, their Family members, and survivors. The Military OneSource program is accessible worldwide via the toll-free telephone number ( 800-342-9647) or the website ( https://www.militaryonesource.mil/ ). Military OneSource also provides Service members, their Families and survivors access to confidential non-medical counseling on a face-to-face basis in the local community, and also via telephone, secure online chat and video. Moreover, Military OneSource offers financial and tax counseling, specialty consultations (for example, health and wellness coaching, wounded warrior consultations, etc.), educational materials available in a variety of topics and formats, mobile solutions, translation of official documents and simultaneous interpretation in more than 150 languages.

Military OneSource provides confidential help and comprehensive information on every aspect of military life to members of the Army National Guard on active duty and their Families, without regard to activation status or geographic location.
Retired and discharged Service members and their immediate Family are eligible until 365 days past End of Tour of Service (ETS), retirement date, or discharge date including Service members on Temporary Disability Retirement List. Immediate Family includes Spouse, Children and anyone who has legal responsibility for Service member's Children for the benefit of the Child.
Overview: Military OneSource provides military Families support on a wide range of concerns, to include parenting, wounded warriors, Spouse education and employment, relocation, financial management , legal concerns, everyday community and consumer issues, emotional well-being, health and wellness, housing, recreation, pet care, adult or Child special needs, military life, work concerns, and elder care. By calling the toll-free telephone number or using live chat on the website, Service members and Family members are able to immediately reach a consultant with a master's degree in the helping professions (social work, counseling, psychology, etc.) who is knowledgeable of the military life as well as military and civilian community resources. Peer support consultants are also available for Service members and eligible Veterans who want to speak with someone with a similar experience. Military OneSource has a vast array of educational materials on the website that can be downloaded or mailed to Service members, their Family members or survivors. Military OneSource also provides referrals to private, confidential non-medical counseling to assist Families coping with normal reactions to adverse situations.
Military OneSource does not provide information about pay, personnel, or other military administrative issues.
Non-Medical Counseling : Military OneSource confidential, non-medical counseling is provided by licensed, certified counselors upon request. Up to 12 counseling sessions may be provided for each issue, at free to the Soldier or Family member.
Face-to-face non-medical counseling is provided via referrals to counselors within a 30-mile radius of the Soldier or Family member's home.
Telephonic, secure online chat and video counseling are provided as scheduled by the Soldier or Family member.
Military OneSource refers Service members and Family members to TRICARE or a military treatment facility when mental health counseling is needed.
Military OneSource counseling is short term; it is solution focused and addresses areas such as stress management, couples communications, parent-Child communications, grief and loss, financial management, anxiety, self-esteem, loneliness, and critical life decisions.
Non-medical counseling is provided to individuals, couples, Families, or groups.
With the exception of mandatory state, federal, and military reporting requirements (domestic violence, Child abuse, and duty to warn situations), Military OneSource non-medical counseling is private and confidential to encourage the widest level of participation.
Expertise: Military OneSource consultants and counselors have a master's degree in a helping profession field of study such as social work, psychology, or counseling. All non-medical counselors must be certified and licensed to practice in their state of practice.
Transferring your Professional License:
The 2018 National Defense Authorization Act allows each service branch to reimburse Spouses up to $1000 for re-licensure and certification costs resulting from relocations or PCS moves that cross U.S. state lines. The Army defines "qualified relicensing costs" as any fees or costs associated with getting the same or similar license in a new state that a military Spouse held at their previous location. In some occupations, your state-issued license - no matter where it's from - is valid for government and contracting jobs. To learn more about transferring certifications overseas, check with that installation's hiring authority.
