Summary

The Consortium for Health and Military Performance (CHAMP) is dedicated to the health and performance of Service members, their families, retirees and all DoD personnel. The focus is on holistic approaches to optimize Warfighter mission and Family readiness through leadership, community engagement, education and translation of human performance research.

Service members, their Families, retirees and all DoD personnel are eligible for services.

CHAMP Uniformed Services UniversityThe Consortium for Health and Military Performance (CHAMP) carries out and translates research to improve Service member’s performance in the field and returning to duty. The Human Performance Resource Center (HPRC) is the military’s source for ways to maximize performance fitness, wellness and nutrition. Broken into five domains, HPRC provides articles and Human Performance Resourcesresources to help you optimize your performance in all domains of your life.

  • Mental Health - Resources to grow your mental health and grow from adversity

  • Performance Psychology - Skills that strengthen the connection between mind and body to optimize your overall health and performance

  • Sleep & Stress - Improves your quality of sleep and optimize your stress response

  • Spiritual Fitness - Focus on using your core beliefs, values and spiritual practices to help you navigate life’s challenges and optimize your performance

  • Substance Use - Discuss the risks of tobacco, alcohol and drug use and where to find support and resources

The Nutritional Fitness domain includes:

  • ComRaD - The Combat Rations Database (ComRaD) contains up-to-date nutritional information about combat ration menus as well as food components inside them

  • Go for Green (G4G) - Helps Service members make smart choices to fuel your body and mind, optimize your energy, and help you perform at your best

  • Warfighter Nutrition Guide - Strategies and recommendations for all aspects of performance nutrition for Military Service member

  • Fighting-Weight Strategies - Strategies that help Military Service members maintain optimum body weight and condition for mission success

  • Performance Nutrition - How nutrition basics and specialty topics enhance Warfighter performance during workouts, training, missions and recovery

  • Unique Nutrition Needs - Military Service members often have their nutritional needs change with assignment, MOS/AFSC, or health status. Find resources for peak performance in unique military scenarios

The Social Fitness domain includes:

  • Couples & Intimacy - Learn how to navigate the highs and lows of romantic relationships, strengthen your partnerships and explore resources on sexuality

  • Family Optimization - Help strengthen your family and keep your household resilient

  • Relationship Building - Foundational skills to improve your relationship in any context

  • Teams & Leadership - Information to help you lead and work effectively with others on duty and in professional settings.

Other Resources

Building Healthy Military Communities (BHMC) - A pilot initiative to improve mission readiness, health and well-being of geographically dispersed Service members and their Families through increased awareness and access to military and community resources promoting well-being.

Operation Supplement Safety - Provides evidence-based information about dietary supplements to achiever human performance optimization. Some supplements have resulted in adverse events that compromise rather than improve performance and, in some cases supplements result in positive drug tests. Operation Supplement Safety provides the tools and resources to help users make informed decisions about dietary supplements to reduce the potential risks to their health and careers.

Warrior Heat-and Exertion-Related Events Collaborative (WHEC) - A multi-disciplinary advisory group focused on preventing, managing and treating heat illness and related conditions among Military Service members.

ADVet HOMME - The Active Duty and Veterans’ Holistic Musculoskeletal Management and Enhancement program is a collaboration between CHAMP and VA Dayton to deliver holistic, musculoskeletal pain-management resources.

SSFS 7x7 Initiative - A Spiritual fitness assessment and resources administer and interpret the Spiritual Fitness Scale (SSFS)
