Falls Church, Va., April 30, 2015 - The fourth generation TRICARE Pharmacy contract, or "TPharm4" kicks off on May 1, 2015. The contract is staying with the current contractor, Express Scripts, meaning that beneficiaries shouldn't experience any disruption in their pharmacy benefits. However, Express Scripts is offering new web services to help beneficiaries manage their prescription drugs.

When you log onto Express Scripts' new website, www.express-scripts.com/tricare Express Scripts site, you will see there are some enhanced features on your prescription dashboard. First, you can see all your current prescriptions, check their status, turn on or off the automatic refills, and order refills of your Home Delivery prescriptions. You will also be able to see which prescriptions are currently on backorder through Home Delivery, and track them once they are available again. Finally, you can view your current and recent explanations of benefits on the web, which show any prescription claims you filed in recent months and now include prescriptions you fill at a military pharmacy.

Another resource that is moving to the Express Scripts website is the formulary search tool. This was on the TRICARE pharmacy site, but a revamped, more user-friendly version is now available at www.express-scripts.com/tricareformulary. The search tool also directly links to medical necessity and prior authorization forms for medications that require them.
